The Springfield Township Area Chamber of Commerce is announcing an Alternative Energy Conference and Vendor Expo. The event is scheduled for May 1, 2010 and will be located in the auditorium at Springfield High School. ·The theme of this year’s event is “Moving Today into Tomorrow”.
Guest speakers are presenting on the following topics:

Ilene Shapiro,·Summit County Council at-large representative, will discuss Summit County’s “Green” initiatives, economic condition and commercial activity. In addition, she will explain how these will impact the county and surrounding businesses.

Russ Pry, Summit County Executive will also be on hand to discuss county initiatives and support.

David Karpinski of NorTech will present on the economic development potential for Northeast Ohio and Advanced Energy.·

Al Frasz of Dovetail Solar and Wind will discuss the solar technologies available, incentives for such technology and energy audits for both commercial and residential customers.

Scott Williams of Stark State Technical College will talk about green building and brown-field reclamation.

Women of Wind Energy will provide updates to activities around NE Ohio as well as share new goals that have been assigned to wind initiatives.

Charles Heyman of First Energy will present energy efficiencies and ways to reduce your business and homes' consumption.

America Wind Energy Association (AWEA) will focus their presentation on the wind industry, what developments are in store for Ohio and future outlook
The·Vendor Expo will·showcase area businesses whose business plan focuses on the growth of renewable
energies. These businesses must supply a service, product or professional consultation to the residential and/or
commercial segments for renewable applications.
