CHAIRPERSON’S MESSAGE Greetings! I am looking forward to a great 2010! The board and I will be hard at work to continue to bring you great programming and learning opportunities, networking opportunities, community outreach for strengthening the business community and economic development, legislative updates and more! We want to focus on engaging our most valuable resource—you, our members. I’m excited to announce that the board and I will be meeting to work on formulating our strategic plan for the coming years. We will keep you abreast of our work on this plan through our newsletter and other forms of communication. The creation of the Chamber brought together our area’s companies to provide a voice, a robust support system, and a knowledgebase to grow current business and offer new opportunities to attract other companies into the area. As you may or may not know, many of our members and others who helped with the development of the Chamber were honored at the February 4, 2010 Annual Meeting. I want to again present and thank them for all of their assistance in making the work of the Chamber move forward to create a positive, supportive atmosphere in our community.
We anticipate creating or expanding our initiatives in order to meet our service goals and align ourselves with our members’ expectations. This will translate into many new service offerings and learning opportunities for you and your companies. Stay tuned for more information and our progress toward setting and meeting these goals and initiatives. We need your help! We will be asking for some assistance with one of our events, or a place to stage a meeting, or any other expertise you can contribute. I know we will be able to count on you to assist with growing our Chamber. I look forward to working with you and making this a great year and beyond!
