ALICE Training

Recommended guidelines for organizations and schools regarding how to prepare, train, and respond to an active shooter situation are constantly changing. Ongoing training is critical to ensuring preparedness.

Springfield Local Schools will be hosting Active Shooter Response Certification Training (ALICE Training) on March 26 and 27, 2019. This certification is a two day train the trainer class on active shooter response. Attendees will range from law enforcement, local school officials and area businesses leaders. The cost is $595.

ALICE – Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate – is a set of proactive options-based strategies that moves beyond lockdown by empowering individuals to participate in their own survival in the face of violence. ALICE is supported by more than 4200 law enforcement agencies around the country and complies with the standard of care recommended by the Federal Department of Education, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
