Help your child develop skills needed to read and write by talking, reading, singing and playing with
your child! We do ALL of these things in STORY TIME. We make learning FUN!
Baby Time
Mondays, March 6-April 24, 6:30 pm
Tuesdays, March 7-April 25, 10:05 am
Ages 6-24 months and their caregiver
Rhymes, music, books, bounces and playtime
No registration necessary.

Toddler Time
Tuesdays, March 7-April 25, 11 am
Ages 2-3 years and their caregiver
Stories, songs, rhymes, crafts, and playtime
No registration necessary.

Story Time
Wednesdays, March 8-April 26, 10:30 am
Thursdays, March 9-April 27, 6:30 pm
Ages 2-6 years
Stories, music, puppets, crafts and playtime
No registration necessary.

Lego Club
Thursdays, March 2, 16 and April 6, 20, 4-5 pm
Ages 5-14 and their families.
Join our Block Party! We provide the bricks; you provide the imagination! One of the best ways to
learn is through play!
No registration necessary.

Paws for Reading
March 25, April 29, May 27, 12-1
For all ages
No registration necessary.

Mrs. Bumblebee and Her Counting Wings
Love to Learn Tour with local author Gwendolyn Blackshear
Saturday, March 11, 11 am
Ms. Blackshear, an educational and nonprofit consultant as well as a speaker for schools, church, and
community organizations, will read and sign her recent picture book release, Mrs. Bumblebee and
Her Counting Wings. Crafts and snacks provided.

Kids Book Club to Go
Grab a copy of the monthly selection to read at home with family and friends. Answer the discussion
questions provided, try the suggested activities, and complete the reading or writing activity that can
be returned for display in the library.


Afterschool Crowd
Grades 6-12, 3:45 pm (no programs when Akron Public Schools are closed)

Hyre CLC Book Discussion Group
Grades 6-8
Meetings held once a month during lunch period. Contact Hyre CLC librarian Barb Nicholson for a pass
to attend.

NBA 2K17 Tournament

Practice ACT Test
Saturday, April 22, 10 am
Grab your calculator and sharpen your pencils to take a free ACT practice test and get a head start on
preparing for college. Please register in advance.

Anime Afternoon
Grades 6-12
Saturday, May 27, 2 pm
Choose which anime we watch, make candy sushi, and create anime-related art for our bulletin
